Before I begin let me apologize for the lack of pictures on this post. Just close your eyes and visualize...it's the best we can do for now!
Jonathan, Anna Kate, and I spent a week in Amarillo for a friend's wedding. Jonathan served his groomsman duties well and got to spend lots of time with old friends from high school and college. Anna Kate and I got some great time with Nana and Ab and enjoyed swimming at the pool almost every day. We ate some fabulous food as well...Taco Villa, Fat Boys, and Kabuki just to name drop a few for you Panhandle folks out there. We got to relax and catch up with family and friends for a whole week. What a treat!
We flew back into San Diego with a delayed flight and lots of traffic leaving us with about an hour before our lifegroup began at our house. We also realized that our only house keys were locked inside our house. So Jonathan adeptly climbed through a window and thus our trip home was complete...always eventful around here!
A couple days after we got home, our friend Dara came to visit us from Dallas. We hoped to show her the San Diego sunshine, but she only saw small glimpses from cloudy skies. So we shopped and ate out...a great alternative! We managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the beach though we really needed our jackets with the cold winds on the coast. Regardless of the temperature, we all put our feet in the ocean and watched the waves. We loved having her here!
This week we decided to do parent and tot swim lessons with Anna Kate. Our friends were doing it too so we jumped on board! Anna loves being in the water so I figured this would be perfect. Well to my surprise, she cried through almost the whole first day. It turns out her personality is much like her mom's in that she is really not up for trying new things. She loves being in the water and just floating around. When it comes to kicking her legs and jumping off the side, it was a little too much for her. So today we prayed for a lot of peace and grace for her little heart and took off into the water once more. Thankfully, she did so much better today. I did not push her too much but she learned one new skill...putting her face in the water! Above all, we want her to love the water and learn some new things little by little. That is all I can ask of her!
Baby Jenna is growing along great with only 11 weeks to go until her arrival. I can hardly believe we are getting so close to her being here. Though I am trying to soak up every last day with just Anna Kate and me. This is such a special time where I only have one child. I want to enjoy every moment!
So that is the update with us. We will try to post some pics soon!
