...and Jonathan took off with a close friend, Brad Jones, for the cross country drive with the Penske truck and car trailing behind.
Anna Kate and I flew to meet him and saw our new house for the first time. We settled in for about a week before returning to Texas for the holidays with our families. We had such a fun time in Amarillo and Austin celebrating Anna Kate's first Christmas. She was very blessed with so many fun gifts and lots of love!
Two days after Christmas, we packed up our remaining belongings in Texas and flew out to our new home on a one way ticket. Since then, we have unpacked a little and found the grocery store and Target...must haves for me.We cannot believe we are a California family! We love our time here so far.
We have been planning to buy a second car for some time now, but have been waiting for the funds and the right one to come along. On New Year's Eve, with the help of Craig's list, we found it! We are now the proud owners of a VW Passat wagon. The perfect cool Cali mom car!
What a whirlwind of a month...maybe January will be a little slower. Thanks for thinking about us even during our hiatus from blogging. Blessings and Happy New Year!

Love the new ride! The pictures of San Diego make me so jealous. Today at work I spoke with a guy who is having a son and he said how annoying it is when people say what you should name the baby. I would like to now apologize for suggesting you name a future child "Bart." Although you will no longer get pressure from me to name your child, I still ask that you have a son sometime soon so that I can be his favorite uncle, just like I'm Anna Kate's favorite uncle :) You might have to move quickly as we might have some additional family members in the near future :)
I drive all the way to San Diego and don't even get my name published in the blog? The picture is nice, but you can't even tell it is me.
P.S. I like the new ride.
Who is that random guy standing next to the Penske truck? :)
So glad you guys are there and so glad you found a car. We are praying for the transition over this next month. You guys are loved and thought of often!
bienvenido a SoCal!
hope you all are getting settled in. We should meet up for a cup of coffee or dinner or something. I'd love to chat with you about your work out here and what not. blessings
