Happy One Week!

Today Anna Kate is one week old! We love having her at home and settling into a new routine. She is pretty good at sleeping at night other than waking up for feedings. During the day, she sits in her bouncy chair, naps, and gets cozy in her mom and dad's arms. She does not enjoy her bath, but she loves getting her hair washed! She is so content as Jonathan rubs her little head with shampoo. We can already tell that she is developing since her birth. She has already regained her birth weight plus some...usually this is a goal for the end of second week. So we know she is a great eater! Jonathan and I are doing good, and working together to get sleep whether it is day or night. Jonathan is such a wonderful husband and dad and I am more and more thankful for him every day. After one week with baby, here are some of my reflections on this time...Epidurals were one of the best inventions ever! Home is so sweet after two days in the hospital. It is such a blessing to have parents who stay with us and jump in to help at a moment's notice. Cuddly baby in your arms is wonderful even at 3am. I love the smell of baby shampoo! It is such a treat to sleep on my stomach after nine months of side time. Jonathan is great at cutting her finger nails, even when I am too nervous to look! We are so thankful to God for our gift of a precious, healthy little girl.

We are so glad to hear how well things are going. Great reflections Suzanne...love them! Now, you realize that we expect pictures every week because she will be changing that often. :) So glad you are getting the chance to rest. We are still praying for the 3 of you!

Congrats on making it through that first week! All of your little reflections are SO familiar. I remember thinking so many of those same things. Bring on more pictures. :)
