Lovin the exersaucer!

I have been wanting to put Jenna Grace in the exersaucer for a while now and today was her first day. Anna helped me clean it (that girl loves her some Clorox wipes) and then we put Jenna in. You can see she loves it!

Rainy day

We don't have many rainy days in San Diego, but when we do, we have to get creative to keep the troops entertained. Thus, here are the activities of our rainy day...

1. Make banana bread.

Anna Kate was a great kitchen helper but it was challenging to keep her hands out of the bowl and flour off the floor. She insisted that the bread needed some sprinkles so that explains the blue pieces on the top. Go figure! And of course, we added chocolate chips.

2. Make collages of family and friends pictures.

Thanks, Shelly for the magazines to cut from. We had a great time learning about who is in our family and who our friends are. Of course, we always have fun with glue!

3. Dress up and have a fun photo shoot.

4. Naptime!

What a fun rainy day! Anyone else have some rainy day activities for kiddos?

Sister, sister!

Ok, Mom. Enough photos!

Sisters

This was a picture of Anna Kate and me when she was about 2 months old.

Here is one of Jenna Grace at about the same age. Wow, you can definitely tell they are sisters!

What we have been up to...

We have been busy settling into January back to full steam ahead with church, ministry, and family activities. Mommy has been spending a lot of time with the girls and enjoying every minute. The good...Anna starting to potty train, Jenna smiling a ton, and Anna recognizing some numbers at the Target check out. The bad...both girls screaming at once in the late afternoon post-naptime, pre-dinner portion of the day. And the not so pretty...A little throw up from Anna while Mommy is feeding Jenna. All in a day's work!

Jenna is 4 and a half months today! She is truly a joy and delight to our family. From her first sleepy smile in the morning to her giggles and bubbles throughout the day, she fills the hours with many happy times. Jenna still takes about 4 naps a day and is sleeping 8-9 hours a night. We thought we might combine the two girls in the same room now, but decided to wait a little longer as Jenna is doing so well in the guest room. Don't rock the boat, right? We have her next check up next week so it will be exciting to see how she is doing on the growth charts. I have no doubt those chubby cheeks are an indicator of the 80 or 90 percentiles in weight! She loves her toys and below you can see a picture of how she fell asleep still holding on to one of them!

Anna Kate is learning her numbers and letters as well as colors and shapes. Her vocabulary is constantly expanding and currently she is stuck on belongings and what belongs to who. This morning she kept saying Mommy cup. Anna cup. Mommy cup. Anna cup. She loves when she and I have the same thing but each one belongs to her or I. Fascinating! She and Jonathan have such fun Daddy daughter dates to the zoo or the park. Anna cannot get enough of her Daddy. Speaking of the park, Anna has found her home away from home there. She could swing for about an hour and Mommy's arms get quite a workout from pushing her. She tackles the highest slide with the greatest of ease and loves climbing! I am proud of her adventurous spirit and how she loves new things! Next up: potty training and cups with no tops!

My two little lovies!

Anna and Mommy time

Since we have been back, Jenna Grace has settled back into a wonderful daytime schedule. This brings me more peace than you can imagine after a very crazy and unpredictable first three months from her. So Jenna's morning naptime ends up being Mommy and Anna Kate time. I love it! And I think Anna Kate does too!

This was from yesterday morning as we were cleaning out Anna's room in preparation for her to gain a roommate next week (her sister). I told her she could only have her paci at naptime and bedtime. Her first ploy was to lay in her bed and ask "nap, nap". After this did not work, she went through my giveaway pile and discovered this little newborn paci. She exclaimed "bubby!" (her word for paci) and posed in pleasure!

This one was when we were sitting on the porch together as I drank my coffee and she ate a yogurt. Too cute!

This girl loves her blankets...and her sister's play gym! Note: this was before the no daytime paci policy. Also do you notice a trend? We stay in our pjs until we absolutely must change clothes to leave the house!

Rock Band

Over Christmas break, Jonathan and I really enjoyed playing Rock Band with my family. They convinced me to try the bass and I loved it...here is my musical debut!
