Cutie Bubble Girl

Our little girl deserves the nickname "Bubbles". Anna Kate has discovered she can blow bubbles through her lips with all the drool that pools up there and it is her new favorite pastime. All through dinner tonight, in the car all the way home, throughout her bath and then as I was combing her hair, she blew those sweet little bubbles. It is too cute! All the bubbles end up on her front and leave her in need of a dry shirt, but it is so fun to watch.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Did you know that Valentine was actually a physician that was imprisoned for giving aid to martyrs?  While he was in prison, the jailer came to follow Jesus after Valentine prayed and restored sight to the jailer's daughter.  Incredible!

We hope you have a wonderful day!

Out on the town...

img_5554.jpgWe went to look for housing for our teammates moving in the next couple of months, and I decided to take a few pics of my girls.  Here's one that I like.

Update on All Peoples Church | Our First Baptism

As we look at this past month, we are in awe of all that God has done.  He has brought together a group of ethnically and socially diverse young people that are hungry to know more about God and desperate for authentic community.  At the beginning of January, we started having LifeGroup – which has been an incredible to time for people in their 20s and 30s to enjoy a meal together, hear and discuss teaching from the Bible, worship together, and pray for each other.  As we have been meeting, God has increasingly knit our hearts together and we are seeing a core of committed people that are excited about following God.

This past Sunday, we had our first baptism service.  Cameron, a SDSU baseball player, recently came to know Jesus and has been one of the pillars of our LifeGroup.  He is a natural leader and influencer so it was amazing to hear him share his testimony and how God has changed his life with all of his friends and community there supporting him.  Thank you, thank you to everyone who has prayed for our LifeGroup...God is moving!img_5502_2.jpgimg_5522_4.jpg

Catherine's Engaged

This weekend Suzanne's sister Catherine got engaged in College Station, Texas! Knowing this was a big event, Suzanne and Anna Kate flew out there for the weekend to join in the celebration. Anna Kate did great on both flights with only a few fussy times and no poop explosions. Unfortunately, she saved them up for when her Grandpa was holding her in his nice shirt. (Sorry, Dad!) Her grandparents were thrilled to have them come visit and purchased a new car seat and pack n play for the occasion. Now Anna Kate is completely set when she comes to visit.

She got to spend time with Aunt Laurenimg_5479.jpg and Uncle Bart as well. img_5454.jpgSo Alex proposed and Catherine said yes img_5481.jpgand then we surprised her at her house in College Station with a little party of family and friends. Let the wedding planning begin!img_5485.jpg

A little under the weather

Yesterday Anna Kate woke up with a little fever and a little sniffle. We kept an eye on her and then took her in to see the doctor today. It was our first San Diego doctor's visit so I was a little nervous. We LOVED our doctors in Waco, so I wondered if we could find new ones here that rivaled our old ones. Thanks to the help of some San Diego locals, we found a great group of pediatricians that seem super sweet. Something you moms will appreciate is that the waiting room is divided into two sides: sick kids and well kids. So when you bring in your child for a well check-up, he or she is not around all the germies of the sick ones. What a great idea! Anna Kate was a champ during her appointment and weighed in at 15 pounds...see her tummy of love in pictures from our other posts :) She has a cold so we are taking it easy the rest of today. More than anything, I am so thankful to be settled with some doctors here. We learned where their office is, we learned who the doctors are, and most importantly, we learned that the parking garage only accepts cash and checks...the hard way. Picture us digging around the floor of the car to gather up a little loose change. We came up short but were granted grace by the parking attendant who realized that we were new Californians!

Rainy Day in San Diego | Way to Go Giants!

img_0113_2.jpgimg_0123_2.jpgimg_0125_2.jpgAfter a stunning fourth quarter, the Giants won the Super Bowl in a big upset for the previously undefeated Patriots. What a game! We gathered with some friends here to watch it and had a great time. Anna Kate slept most of the game, but roused for the fourth quarter where she supported the winning team. Thanks to Uncle Bart and Aunt Lauren for the game winning onesie!

My little ocean girl

In our exploration of our fun city, we went today to see the IMAX at the Science Museum in Balboa Park. On our way to the park, we grabbed a free pretzel at Auntie Anne's (they were free all day!) Once we got to the museum, we were wary to take our sweet baby into the theater, not knowing how she would deal with the huge screen and music playing. All our fears were allayed very quickly as the movie started. It was called "The Living Sea" and showed all of the underwater life in the sea.  Anna Kate loved it! She was glued to the screen as the fish swam and ocean waves crashed. She cooed and giggled at the colorful coral and followed the fish as they swam across the screen. What a treat! I need to get this DVD at home for her to watch. Our little girl is already an ocean lover...at home in California!  Needless to say, we had a great family outing to the Science Center!mail-2.jpegmail-1.jpegmail.jpeg
